Privacy Policy

Cibo Cookbook helps you save recipes, import cooking ideas, plan meals, and keep your kitchen information in sync across devices. This policy explains what information Cibo collects, how it is used, and the choices you have.

Information We Collect

When you create or use an account, Cibo collects the information needed to authenticate you and provide the app experience. This may include your email address, name, profile image, provider account identifier, account creation date, and authentication session details.

Cibo also stores the content you choose to add to the app, such as saved recipes, imported recipe URLs, recipe text, screenshots or images you upload for import, meal plans, shopping list items, collections, favorites, notes, kitchen profile details, preferences, and related app settings.

We and our service providers may receive basic technical information such as IP address, browser or device type, timestamps, error logs, and security events when you use the app.

Google and Apple Sign-In

If you sign in with Google or Apple, Cibo uses that provider only to verify your identity and create or access your Cibo account. For Google sign-in, Cibo requests the basic sign-in scopes: openid, email, and profile. Cibo does not request access to Gmail, Google Drive, Google Calendar, contacts, or other Google services.

Information received from Google or Apple, such as your name, email address, profile image, and provider account identifier, is used for account authentication, account display, security, and syncing your Cibo data. Cibo does not sell Google or Apple account information and does not use it for advertising.

How We Use Information

Cibo uses information to:

  • Sign you in and keep your account secure.
  • Sync saved recipes, plans, shopping lists, and preferences.
  • Import, parse, organize, and display recipe content.
  • Provide app features, support, troubleshooting, and backups.
  • Maintain reliability, prevent abuse, and protect the service.
  • Comply with legal obligations and enforce the Terms of Service.

Recipe Imports and AI Features

When you use import, search, OCR, or AI-assisted recipe features, Cibo may process the recipe text, URLs, screenshots, images, prompts, and related context you provide. These inputs may be sent to service providers that help parse, analyze, search, or generate recipe information. Do not submit private information that you do not want processed for these purposes.

How Information Is Shared

Cibo shares information with service providers that help operate the app, including authentication, database hosting, app hosting, backend services, logs, security, and AI-assisted processing. These providers are used to deliver Cibo, not to sell your personal information.

Cibo may also disclose information if required by law, to protect the rights and safety of users or the service, or in connection with a business transfer such as a merger, acquisition, or asset sale.

Your Choices

You can choose what recipe content, imports, plans, and preferences you add to Cibo. You can sign out at any time. You may request access to, correction of, export of, or deletion of your account data by contacting Cibo.

Deleting your Cibo account may remove saved recipes, plans, shopping lists, preferences, and account-linked data. Some information may be retained for a limited time in backups, logs, security records, or as required by law.

Data Retention

Cibo keeps account and app content while your account is active or as needed to provide the service. We may keep limited records longer when necessary for security, troubleshooting, fraud prevention, legal compliance, or backup integrity.

Security

Cibo uses reasonable technical and organizational safeguards designed to protect your information. No internet service can guarantee perfect security, so use care when choosing what to store or upload.

Children

Cibo is not directed to children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13.

Changes

Cibo may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. When changes are material, we will update the effective date and provide notice as appropriate.
